The 25th annual REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive begins this Monday, November 18 and we need your donations.
From November 18 to 25, REALTORS® across the region will collect donations of blankets, sleeping bags, warm winter clothing, and new socks and underwear for those most in need.
The donations are then sorted and delivered to charities and organizations in the same area in which they were collected.
The public can drop donations off at one of the 100 plus participating real estate offices. Click here for a list of participating offices.
You can drop off donations at our Yaletown or Oak St Offices.
Or, we can swing by and grab them from you!
“Donations to the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive are relied upon by organisations across our region that help residents in need stay warm during the winter,” said Ashley Smith, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver president. “We can’t be successful without the public’s support. Please give what you can and help us spread the word.”
Since the Blanket Drive began, the program has helped more than 385,000 people in our communities keep warm and dry.
"We are excited to accept donations again during this year’s Blanket Drive,” said Carrie Belanger, Manager, Sources Community Resources Society, White Rock. “The items we received last year were given out through our Housing First program, which supports people who are chronically homeless in finding and maintaining housing. Every item found a home and was so appreciated by the people who received them. Thank you!"
Items we’re looking for:
- blankets, sleeping bags
- warm clothing - coats, jeans, pants, sweaters
- scarves, gloves, mitts, hats
- socks (new)
- underwear (new)
